Thirty-one years after its founding, Akiba School celebrated with presentations, skits, music, awards and more. What began as a dream of helping children in need has grown into a leading center for education. Edith Gitao’s vision of a Christian school to chase away poverty and ignorance now serves over 500 students, is the top performing primary school in the community of Kangemi, and boasts a strong faculty and leadership. During the annual Founder’s Day celebration, teachers, board members, and alumni shared words of encouragement, while parents and guardians enjoyed drama, dancing, and student presentations along with a special purple Akiba cake.
